Adam Grosowsky: New Work
June 29 - July 30, 2022
Reception for artists: Friday, July 1, 5:30-7:30 pm
For the month of July, Karin Clarke Gallery will feature two spotlight two artists in the main gallery: gallery owner Karin Clarke; and retired LCC instructor Adam Grosowsky.
Grosowsky has two new series he will be showcasing. Several works reflect his admiration for the people of Ukraine, painted in his signature dramatic style, the works are large and powerful. Notice the lush yellows and blues in his paintings, representing the Ukrainian flag and the women adorned with traditional ribboned headdresses.
Another brand new group of paintings celebrates the track history in Eugene, including painting of Bill Bowerman, Steve Prefontaine, and Hayward Field.
Grosowsky has been exhibiting at Karin Clarke Gallery since 2005, and is one of Oregon’s most collected and admired painters. He received his BFA from Evergreen State in 1981, then a MA and a MFA from University of Iowa in 1984 and 1986. He recently retired after having been on the arts faculty at Lane Community College for almost 30 years.
Meet both artists at the First Friday Artwalk on July 1st and enjoy these contrasting shows by two well-known figures in the Eugene art scene.
