For the month of July, Karin Clarke at the Gordon presents a spotlight show of paintings by noted Oregon artist and art teacher Erik Sandgren.
Sandgren's work focuses on the mountains, trees , water, and skies of the dramatic Northwest landscape. On occasion a figure or group of figures is present, sometimes fishing or walking along the Oregon coast. He is also well admired for his large scale public murals in Washington, including the famous "Nirvana in Aberdeen" and locally the 4600 square feet Eugene/Springfield Airport Concourse Project on which he assisted his father, the late painter Nelson Sandgren. Having been tenured as a one-person art department of Grays Harbor College he has returned to Oregon to and paint full-time.
